You Might Be a Tightwad If...

You might be a tightwad if this is looks familiar.  We like to use up every last bit of things around here, and I am very good at folding up tubes to squeeze out as much as I can, but there comes a time when the only way to get more out of a tube is SCISSORS!

I do like to get as much use as I can out of things, but I'm always a little afraid of "frugal clutter" taking over my house.  There are so many ideas out there for reusing and repurposing things to save money and resources.  Some of these ideas can be quite elegant: I always love the look of pantry staples in plain, glass jars.  Other reuse ideas can be...dare I say...less aesthetically pleasing.

We'll see if we need to make many aesthetic compromises as the No-Thing New project goes on.  This could be a sticking point for me!

I totally do this. Especially with expensive creams or if I really really really don't want to go to the store to buy toothpaste.

I've usually only got one cream going at once, my current one is in a jar, much more TW friendly. I always do this with is shampoo. I got tired of buying it just to have the boys use a half a bottle. I clean out the scraps and pour them all into one big bottle with a pump.

I knew exactly what those were when I saw them! I always do that. I also cut plastic bottles with a razor blade. Carefully.

I do this! I swear there is always a huge amount still in the tubes, just waiting on me to finish!

I do this too. and if there is lots still left, I put them in a small screw top container to keep it usable.

Ah, hanging onto a screw top jar is a good idea. Sometimes the amount left surprises you, and it would be good to have a way to keep it from drying out. I've used a clothespin in some cases.
