I don't think there was any hope, even if I had finished the sleeves, put in the hem, and made it out of completely different fabric. Well...let's see how the sleeves would look:

I've tossed out a few garments myself and have never felt guilt over any of them.
oh! I'm glad you posted some pictures...I was very curious! It doesn't look that bad to me, but I know from experience that pictures can hide a lot of flaws!
Well, even though the top didn't turn out that great, I honestly like that fabric a lot!
