There just must be something about tree skirts that cats love. Mine do the same thing. Doce, 15, loves Christmas and waits patiently now for it. Fela, my stray, guessing 5 yrs., has not left the skirt and is drinking the tree water...yuckky. I keep scolding her, but she's just being lazy to go to get her own water.
That cat looks very content under the tree; mine thought that the tree was a huge kitty toy! Sadly, we took the tree down pretty quick after Christmas.
